Requirements

- The Clinical Specialist should hold a minimum BSc in a relevant field (science, health) or have significant equivalent experience (essential)

- Broad knowledge and experience of working in operating theatres, recovery units and intensive care units (essential)
Responsibilities
- Train and support transplant teams in the use of the OrganOx metra. Ensure that all users understand the operation modes on the device (with and without an organ in place)
- Ensure that all centres and teams remain competent in the use of the device by a process of in-person follow-up on a regular basis. Ensure that existing and new team members are trained and certified
- Contribute towards a 24-hour, 7 days a week on-call technical support rota, ensuring that there is always a Clinical Specialist available to deal and resolve enquiries
- Ensure that all calls are logged, and any outstanding issues are followed up and resolved. Collect all information and disseminate to team members and other users as appropriate
- Establish and maintain customer relationships, sharing best practice to support adoption of the metra. Develop adoption strategies and materials to showcase the benefits of the metra. Present these materials and strategies to customers
- Identify and develop "champions" of the technology at each customer site
- Identify relevant customer contacts, record and maintain customer database in accordance with data protection regulations
- Identify potential new users of OrganOx products and work with the commercial management on preparing the supply offer. Document market leads and projects in the relevant database and track the progress accurately
- Work with transplant teams to collect data on organs perfused and preserved on the metra to build up a database of product performance and use
- Help to collect information about organ transplantation in general, the preferences and needs of individual units and the status of competing technologies
- Maintain the database of procedures carried out per centre, the types of organs transplanted and the cases where the metra has been used
- Support user group meetings to facilitate shared learning and best practice
- Report any issues or feedback reported with the metra to the Quality team, ensuring prompt completion of follow-up actions
- Assist marketing personnel in understanding the marketplace, utilising knowledge of customers, hospitals, working practices etc
- Maintain accurate records of all training procedures
- Evaluate the quality of training delivered as an ongoing and cumulative process
- Provide a report on the status of each centre with respect to the installation and training procedures
- Maintaining good laboratory practice, adhering to SOPs and ensuring excellent record keeping. Treat animal and human tissue with due care and in accordance with SOPs and policies
- Continued professional development, for example studying medical journals to ensure your knowledge of the transplantation and medical device field is current

- Experience working in a laboratory (desirable)
- Conversant in medical terminology and an understanding of systems and processes within the human body (desirable)

- Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a clinical or healthcare science environment (desirable)
