Summary

Join GlacierGrid, a leading energy industry player, as a Field Electrician to support the deployment of energy management hardware at commercial sites across the U.S. You will install sub-meters, load controllers, and three-phase meters, primarily at quick-service restaurants and other commercial facilities. This field-heavy role involves up to 75% travel monthly, requiring collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless installations and troubleshoot issues. You will also assist with smart thermostat and HVAC hardware installation and maintenance. The position requires a licensed electrician with commercial electrical experience and strong problem-solving skills. Requirements

  • Licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master, depending on state requirements)
  • 3–5+ years of commercial electrical experience, preferably including panel work and metering installations
  • Comfortable working in live electrical panels and interpreting single-line diagrams and site plans
  • Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and low-voltage controls
  • Familiar with smart building systems, IoT devices, and network setups (e.g., WiFi, gateways)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
  • Willing and able to travel frequently (up to 75% per month) across the U.S
  • Organized, dependable, and committed to safety, quality, and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission sub-meters, load controllers, and three-phase meters at customer sites
  • Ensure safe and compliant connections within electrical panels and across commercial building infrastructure
  • Assist with installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of smart thermostats and HVAC-related IoT hardware
  • Travel to customer sites across the U.S. (approximately 75% of the time)
  • Perform site surveys and recommend installation approaches based on building layouts and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers and remote support teams to solve field issues
  • Document work completed and provide feedback for improving installation processes and hardware design
  • Help vet and train third-party contractors or electricians as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Preference for licensing in Texas and Utah
