Summary

Join MedVA as an Independent Contractor and manage financial processes, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with healthcare finance, Medi-Cal claims, and nonprofit financial guidelines. This virtual position requires strong leadership and analytical skills. The role involves managing budgets, generating reports, and supervising a finance team. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or billing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, with a proven ability to drive operational improvements
  • Expertise in QuickBooks, financial reporting, and budgeting tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily finance, accounting, and billing functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data
  • Prepare and manage budgets, generate comprehensive financial reports, and analyze financial performance to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare finance standards, Medi-Cal claim requirements, and nonprofit financial regulations while continuously identifying areas for process optimization
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and fostering professional development in a remote work environment
  • Work with case managers, program directors, and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with organizational goals and improve overall operational effectiveness
  • Utilize QuickBooks, financial reporting software, and budgeting tools to streamline processes and maintain accurate financial records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree
  • Experience in healthcare finance, Medi-Cal claims, and nonprofit finance
