Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in public accounting
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proven track record of proactive problem-solving, issue identification and resolution
  • Experience with process creation/improvement
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, through performing self-reviews
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of working papers, financial statements, and reports to support accurate financial reporting for a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively facilitate the month-end close process and month-end analysis for various accounts
  • Monitor, review, analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and proactively identify and report on variances
  • Coordinate transactional investigation with other business units and implement timely adjustments when needed
  • Preparation of GST/HST/PST/VAT returns
  • Work with other Finance team members to continuously improve and automate team processes, documentation and templates
  • Act as a liaison for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, facilitating smooth communication and transaction processing
  • Assist with compliance (sales taxes, reporting, corporate taxes) amongst multiple entities in various jurisdictions (Canada, US, India, and UK)
  • Continually execute internal controls, identify areas for process improvement and strengthen the control environment
  • Assist with managing audit / tax requests and submissions to external parties
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects across the Finance team

Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation (or working towards CPA)
