Financial Analyst

Summary

Join Octane®, a remote-first company revolutionizing recreational purchases, as a Financial Analyst. You will play a crucial role in the Finance organization, assisting with the month-end close process, creating department-level variance to budget reporting, and performing ad hoc financial analysis. This position involves working closely with the FP&A team and other departments on tasks such as operating model updates, competitor benchmarking, equity and credit investor financial reporting, departmental variance analysis, annual budget and rolling forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data or Business preferred
• 1-2 years corporate finance experience, preferably in investment banking or corporate finance
• Strong critical thinking and analytic abilities, with a high attention to detail is required
• Possess advanced knowledge of Excel
• Comfortable working independently, as well as with a team
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to multitask and consistently deliver for multiple different teams

Responsibilities

• Assisting with operating model updates and analysis
• Competitor and peer performance benchmarking
• Equity and credit investor financial reporting
• Departmental variance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Some experience with three-statement modeling and forecasting of long-term financial results strongly preferred
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
• Basic SQL proficiency
• Experience with Adaptive, Anaplan, or related planning tools
• Knowledge of credit or loans
