Summary
Join Propeller Industries as an Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis, where you will provide financial planning and analysis services to a portfolio of early-stage companies. You will collaborate with Propeller CFOs and Finance Managers to analyze businesses, build financial models, improve forecasting, refine financial reporting, and optimize strategic decision-making. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of financial and accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple client workstreams effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-4 years in finance-focused roles such as FP&A role in-house at high-growth company, management consulting, or investment banking
- Great team player with strong work ethic
- Extremely strong financial modeling and Excel skills
- Good understanding of financial and accounting principals
- Ability to build three statement financial forecasts and report on and explain KPI metrics
- Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details and adapt to shifting priorities
- Good communication skills internally and with clients
- Ability to manage multiple client workstreams in an organized manner and respond to ad-hoc requests to support business decisions in timely and efficient manner
Responsibilities
- Accountable for delivery finance forecasts, budgets, and analysis on financial reports/models
- Build from scratch and maintain detailed financials models including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts
- Work hand-in-hand with accounting team to review and cross-check monthly client financial performance
- Perform monthly variance analysis focused on actuals vs. budget, working with client to understand reason for variances and update forecast accordingly
- Proactively explore and help implement ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of current modeling processes
- Work with clients and Propeller finance leaders to find analytical and modeling projects outside of the normal budgeting and review process to add additional value
