Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and current CPA, CFA, or CMA
  • 8+ years professional experience as a controller responsible for accounting and financial reporting within a lending or financial institution
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and GAAP standards for lending or finance
  • Hands-on experience with mainstream accounting systems – we use Sage Intacct
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality
  • Solid organizational, time management and collaboration skills with a talent for building relationships

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting activities, including billing, financial reporting, GL, AR/AP payroll and compliance
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a robust internal control framework to safeguard assets, maintain financial integrity, and ensure policy compliance
  • Assist with the onboarding and vendor management – coordinating invoices, payments and tax requirements
  • Manage tax filings, statutory reporting, and audits, coordinating with external auditors and accounting firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Create budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, including in-depth financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Passionate about clean energy technologies – we'll get excited about any direct experience with energy project development!
