Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in tax compliance or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in English and French (oral and written bilingualism)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns (e.g., US sales and use tax and Canada's GST/PST/HST)
  • Prepare and file direct tax returns (e.g., property tax, gross receipts tax)
  • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data for corporate income tax returns
  • Research and interpret indirect tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Support tax audits and respond to requests from tax authorities
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation to support audits and compliance
  • Collaborate with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions
  • Contribute to tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities
  • Support the tax team on various projects and initiatives
