Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a financial role (FP&A experience required); public company experience is an asset
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with very strong Google Sheets / Excel and Google Slides / Powerpoint skills
  • Hands-on experience pulling & analyzing complex data; proficient financial modeling skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and proactively to deliver accurate, high-quality outputs with minimal oversight
  • Proven track record and enthusiasm for building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring teams and influencing peer organizations; ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, asserting own ideas and persuading others, gaining support and commitment and mobilizing people to take action
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and eagerness to build strong partnerships and communicate with multiple cross-functional partners/stakeholders; possess the confidence and tact required to express views to both senior stakeholders and peers

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with key cross-functional business partners and stakeholders at the highest levels of the organization
  • Develop and maintain key company-wide financial and strategic planning processes (e.g., quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, long-range planning), including streamlining the processes
  • Own and manage the consolidated financial modeling for the business, including scenario modeling, risk/opportunity assessment, and optimizing resource allocation. Perform strategic and financial analysis to support, using a data-driven approach, key decisions for the business
  • Partner with the different business units and Finance teams to develop monthly, quarterly and annual expense forecasts
  • Partner with the People team to develop and track payroll expenses and related metrics
  • Own and manage the monthly / quarterly / annual in-depth analysis, providing visibility to management of variances from expectations with a focus on understanding key drivers and continuously improving accuracy. Author clear narratives that describe business performance and strategy, providing actionable insights to the business
  • Operate at multiple altitudes - have an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, models, and key drivers and at the same time be able to tell the big picture story of the business financial results
  • Assist the financial reporting team during month end close for accuracy and completeness of information
  • Own and manage the preparation of the external Board materials and other key deliverables (internal and external)
  • Proactively identify and drive improvements to current processes, reports and models by leveraging financial data, non-financial data, external benchmarks, automation and/or prior industry experiences
  • Partner with the Data team, ensuring consistency and reliability of key data. Design and validate new metrics / models / dashboards to drive key insights on the business
  • Manage a lean, high-performing team with an inclusive, direct, and growth-mindset leadership approach, promoting knowledge sharing and providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to foster a high-performance environment in support of Bitso’s mission
  • Provide assistance on ad-hoc projects
