Join our team as a full-time, fully remote Accountant based in the Philippines! This role focuses on maintaining the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with an outsourced accounting agency. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, payroll support, tax calculations, internal financial reporting, and audit assistance. The position requires 3-5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance within a Philippine-based company. A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field is necessary. While a CPA license is preferred, it's not mandatory. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, etc.)
- Ensure correct classification of transactions based on the company’s chart of accounts
- Maintain and update subsidiary ledgers (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, etc.)
- Monitor and reconcile petty cash transactions
- Compute monthly salaries, deductions, and benefits
- Calculate withholding taxes on compensation (for Form 1601C)
- Ensure correct and timely disbursement of salaries and allowances
- Coordinate payroll tax reporting and submission with the outsourced agency
- Compute withholding tax on payments to suppliers
- Prepare and maintain supporting documents for tax filings
- Assist in VAT computations and compliance (for quarterly VAT returns)
- Track tax-deductible expenses for accurate reporting
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Assist in month-end closing activities (e.g., accruals, adjusting entries)
- Verify general ledger balances before submission to the outsourced team
- Ensure all financial documents are properly filed and accessible
- Maintain accounting records and ensure supporting documents are complete
- Implement basic internal control procedures as guided by the outsourced agency
- Assist in preparing reports for SEC filing (GIS, GFFS, Financial Statements)
- Ensure business permit renewal requirements are met
- Oversee timely submission of employer contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG)
- Work closely with the outsourced accounting agency to provide data for tax filings and financial reporting
- Coordinate with legal counsel and auditors for compliance matters
- Respond to BIR, SEC, and LGU inquiries with guidance from the outsourced team
- Record and post financial transactions in the accounting system
- Verify and categorize business expenses and invoices
- Process payroll calculations and deductions
- Coordinate with HR for employee-related financial matters
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents
- Conduct bank reconciliations and update cash flow records
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable for pending payments
- Assist in computing tax deductions on payments to suppliers
- Gather documents for tax compliance submissions
- Prepare payroll tax computations (Form 1601C) and submit to the outsourced agency
- Review financial transactions before month-end closing
- Reconcile general and subsidiary ledgers
- Assist in VAT reporting and compliance for outsourced filing
- Participate in the monthly checkpoint meeting with the outsourced accounting team
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and withholding tax filings
- Assist in income tax computations and documentation
- Prepare supporting reports for SEC compliance
- Gather data for business permit renewal
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for SEC submission
- Support external auditors during the audit process
- Ensure timely employer contribution filings and annual tax reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a company subject to Philippine taxation and compliance regulations
- CPA license
