Summary
National Power is hiring a Generator Service Technician for their Raleigh, NC market. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing generators and electrical equipment, ranging from 5-5000kw. Duties include performing maintenance and repairs on generators, troubleshooting and repairing Automatic Transfer Switches, diesel or gaseous engine repair, load bank testing, and assisting other technicians. A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree in an electrical/mechanical field preferred. Good communication skills, excellent driving record, valid driver's license, computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work in various weather conditions are essential.
Requirements
HS Diploma required; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform various types and levels of maintenance and repair on generators and parallel systems ranging from 5-5000kw
- Troubleshooting and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches, to include bypass isolation, and closed transition types as well
- Perform diesel or gaseous engine troubleshooting and repair
- Perform load bank testing on generator(s) to ensure units are in the proper operating conditions and meet applicable code requirements
- Assist other technicians with large multi-person jobs or troubleshooting complicated issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred
- US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electricianβs Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician preferred
