Summary

The role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and commensurate experience, and involves technical leadership, client interactions, QA/QC duties, and project completion.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from ABET accredited school, Geotechnical concentration strongly preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years’ job-related experience
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required. PA preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Performs independent planning and design tasks, reviews work of others, prepares design documents and reports, and successfully delivers projects to completion
  • Has experience with technically complex projects
  • Possesses knowledge of codes and standards applicable to design of projects
  • Maintains collaborative inter-departmental and cross functional working relationships with members of the project team
  • Performs final QA/QC review of project submissions
  • Develops schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates
  • Works closely with clients and project teams to effectively describe and deliver scope of work
  • Performs field, sample collection, and laboratory coordination tasks as needed
  • Supervises field and junior staff on larger projects as directed
  • Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions
  • Performs and checks design calculations, technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates
  • Performs calculations such as stability analysis, bearing capacity, settlement, pile/drilled shaft capacity, micro-pile design, soil nail design, etc. with minimal oversight
  • Develops and maintains design budgets for routine scopes of work
