Summary
Join RetailNext as a GL Accounting Manager and provide high-level support to the Global Controller, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the GL accounting team. Lead the financial close process for corporate and international entities, manage the GL team's performance, and coordinate with other teams on accounting transactions. Take ownership of WFOE China accounting and manage fixed assets, prepaid accounts, and accrued liabilities. Prepare and reconcile long-term debt accounts, perform intercompany processes, and manage cash accounts. Draft policies and procedures, strengthen the control environment, and manage third-party firms. Play a key role in financial audits and support ad-hoc projects. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, people management skills, and experience with NetSuite and FloQast.
Requirements
- Solid US GAAP
- Intermedia MS Excel and analytical Skills, including vLookups, Pivot Tables, etc
- Minimum 5+ years of Accounting experience
- Minimum 3+ years of managerial role
- Understanding of internal control concepts
- Significant experience with payroll, cash and capitalized software

- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial close process for the corporate entity and international entities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet/income statement and perform account flux analyses
- Oversee the performance of the GL team and work with senior management on cash burn reporting
- Coordinate and communicate with the AP team regarding accounting transactions
- Coordinate and work with the Logistic team regarding inventory accounts, shipments, and internal process of RMA
- Take ownership of WFOE China such as invoicing and billing accounts, intercompany accounts, and meeting requirements
- Calculate and report Revenue based on Cost Plus agreement for international entities
- Manage fixed assets, prepaid accounts, payroll and benefits, accrued income taxes and all other accrued liabilities
- Prepare, record and reconcile all long term debt accounts such as notes payable, deferred financing fees and accrued interest
- Perform intercompany elimination, allocations and consolidations
- Manage and report on all cash accounts (consolidated financial statements)
- Draft policies and procedures and document all accounting principles and procedural recommendations
- Manage efforts to strengthen the control environment and implement process improvements
- Manage third party firms on international and tax compliance
- Play a key role in the annual financial audit, including external audits, tax provisions and sales tax audits, etc
- Responsible for the support of various ad-hoc projects and any other special projects as the business requires
