Global Solutions Facilitator

Summary

Join IREX, a nonprofit organization, as a faculty facilitator for its Global Solutions program! This virtual exchange initiative connects US and MENA students to collaboratively solve global challenges. You'll guide students through either the Sustainability Challenge (February-April 2025, 1-3 hours/week) or Conversations program (February-April 2025, up to 1.5 hours/week). The programs focus on improving global citizenship, problem-solving, and job skills. Successful candidates will receive an honorarium upon completion. Apply now!

Requirements

• Be a current faculty member in a US academic institution
• Have two or more years of teaching experience
• Demonstrate a commitment to teaching and education
• Be a faculty member at a US Community College/University or College who is willing to implement the program within a course

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge or the Global Solutions Conversations program
• Put together gender-balanced teams to pair up with their binational partner over an eight-week period to create a sustainable solution inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (for Sustainability Challenge)
• Utilize IREX-provided curriculum to guide teams through research, brainstorming, design, testing, and pitching their innovative solution (for Sustainability Challenge)
• Guide students in creating innovative solutions and presenting at the Virtual Global Business Expo (for Sustainability Challenge)
• Facilitate a six-week virtual exchange series consisting of six binational calls, where US-MENA students will practice cross-cultural collaboration, learn about each other’s cultures, engage in design thinking, and discuss global issues (for Conversations)
• Guide individual teams in brainstorming a community project idea to support increased sustainability in their local communities (for Conversations)
