Compensation is based on a fair market value, equity-based model, transitioning to salary + benefits at the break-even point. Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development or partnership management, preferably in a startup or early-stage tech environment
  • Deep understanding of industry and market dynamics, with the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-lasting relationships with executives, decision-makers, and potential partners
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies that drive business growth and expand market presence
  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-structuring skills, with experience in closing high-value partnerships
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships that align with our business objectives
  • Build and manage relationships with potential partners, including other tech companies, platforms, and organizations in related industries
  • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements that create mutual value and drive long-term success
  • Lead efforts to expand the company’s reach into new markets (domestic and international)
  • Conduct research to identify emerging market opportunities and growth areas
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new regions or verticals, aligning with the company’s broader mission and vision
  • Own the partnership lifecycle—from identifying potential partners to managing relationships post-signing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, sales, marketing, etc.) to ensure successful partnership execution and integration
  • Work closely with the marketing team to co-create joint marketing campaigns and initiatives with partners
  • Develop and execute the business development strategy in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Regularly assess and refine partnership strategies based on performance metrics and evolving market conditions
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and competitive landscape, leveraging insights to guide business development efforts
  • Lead negotiations with partners to secure favorable terms and agreements
  • Be responsible for drafting and managing contracts, ensuring they reflect the company’s best interests and objectives
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of potential business opportunities
  • Manage and prioritize opportunities based on strategic importance, potential value, and alignment with company goals
  • Report on key partnership metrics and KPIs to the leadership team regularly
  • Work alongside other departments to ensure the successful execution of business development initiatives
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance on potential integrations, product offerings, and strategic direction as the company grows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a leadership role within a startup or tech company
  • Experience in entering new markets or managing partnerships in international regions is a plus
  • Experience managing a small team or cross-functional groups, with the ability to inspire collaboration and growth

Benefits

We use the Slicing Pie model, where equity calculations dynamically adjust based on your fair market rate and actual number of hours worked. At the break-even point, equity freezes and compensation switches to salary + benefits, with equity payouts occurring annually as part of profit-sharing
