Summary

Join BH Properties as their Head of Credit Operations in the Philippines! This remote position, reporting to the Senior Managing Director, Finance, requires strong leadership and expertise in credit risk management within the real estate sector. You will develop and implement credit policies, lead credit evaluations, manage a team of analysts, and collaborate with various departments. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MBA or CPA preferred), 8-10+ years of experience in credit risk management, and a strong understanding of US lending regulations and real estate market dynamics. This role offers a generous consulting fee and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional development within a growing real estate investment firm. The position requires working during standard US Pacific Time business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 8–10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. lending regulations and real estate market dynamics
  • Proficiency in credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies and procedures tailored to real estate transactions, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties
  • Align credit strategies with the company’s investment and development goals
  • Lead the assessment of borrower creditworthiness, including individuals, developers, and institutional clients
  • Approve or escalate credit decisions based on risk thresholds and financial analysis
  • Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure proper risk grading and timely reporting of potential problem loans
  • Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration
  • Partner with legal, finance, and property management teams to ensure smooth deal execution and risk alignment
  • Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions and new developments
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics
  • Leverage data analytics to enhance credit decision-making and forecasting

Preferred Qualifications

Graduated cum laude or better from university is preferred
