You will develop and implement credit policies, lead credit evaluations, manage a team of analysts, and collaborate with various departments. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MBA or CPA preferred), 8-10+ years of experience in credit risk management, and a strong understanding of US lending regulations and real estate market dynamics. The position requires working during standard US Pacific Time business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- 8–10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions
- Strong knowledge of U.S. lending regulations and real estate market dynamics
- Proficiency in credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies and procedures tailored to real estate transactions, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties
- Align credit strategies with the company’s investment and development goals
- Lead the assessment of borrower creditworthiness, including individuals, developers, and institutional clients
- Approve or escalate credit decisions based on risk thresholds and financial analysis
- Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure proper risk grading and timely reporting of potential problem loans
- Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration
- Partner with legal, finance, and property management teams to ensure smooth deal execution and risk alignment
- Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions and new developments
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics
- Leverage data analytics to enhance credit decision-making and forecasting
Preferred Qualifications
Graduated cum laude or better from university is preferred
