Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in data engineering or a related role
- Proven experience in product management, with a track record of driving successful product initiatives
- Strong technical proficiency in database management, data modeling, and ETL processes
- Highly effective in working with data that has extensive relational connections
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute on data roadmaps, delivering tangible business outcomes
- Experience working with external partners and managing vendor relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and focus on continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers
- Define team goals and objectives in alignment with Makersite's overall data strategy
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to execute key initiatives effectively
- Collaborate with product management and other internal and external stakeholders to define, source, and prioritize data requirements based on our current and future customer needs
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap, outlining key milestones and initiatives through a thorough understanding of our product's capabilities
- Identify opportunities for innovation and optimization in data processes and systems
- Drive the execution of the data roadmap, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
- Work closely with external partners and vendors to acquire and integrate relevant data sources
- Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure the quality and accuracy of data inputs
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners, ensuring alignment with the business goals and objectives
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
- Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards
- Implement measures to monitor and mitigate risks related to data privacy and security
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with semantic databases and knowledge graphs is highly desirable
