Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in data engineering or a related role
• Proven experience in product management, with a track record of driving successful product initiatives
• Strong technical proficiency in database management, data modeling, and ETL processes
• Highly effective in working with data that has extensive relational connections
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute on data roadmaps, delivering tangible business outcomes
• Experience working with external partners and managing vendor relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and focus on continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers
• Define team goals and objectives in alignment with Makersite's overall data strategy
• Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment
• Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to execute key initiatives effectively
• Collaborate with product management and other internal and external stakeholders to define, source, and prioritize data requirements based on our current and future customer needs
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap, outlining key milestones and initiatives through a thorough understanding of our product's capabilities
• Identify opportunities for innovation and optimization in data processes and systems
• Drive the execution of the data roadmap, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
• Work closely with external partners and vendors to acquire and integrate relevant data sources
• Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure the quality and accuracy of data inputs
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners, ensuring alignment with the business goals and objectives
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
• Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards
• Implement measures to monitor and mitigate risks related to data privacy and security

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with semantic databases and knowledge graphs is highly desirable
