Join Factor Eleven as their Head of Engineering and lead the scaling of their engineering organization, building the future of AI-powered digital advertising. You will oversee multiple engineering teams, expanding to over 30 engineers across backend and frontend disciplines. Collaborate with Product, Data, and Tech leadership to shape long-term architecture and team structures. This role requires a strong technical foundation, proven success in managing large engineering organizations, and a talent for process improvement and innovation. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles
- Proven experience leading engineering organizations of 30+ people across multiple teams and domains
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
- Demonstrated success in scaling teams, improving processes, and aligning engineering to business outcomes
- A clear track record of embedding AI and machine learning into products, platforms, or engineering operations
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and quality assurance at scale
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and people management skills - you build trust, drive clarity, and inspire teams
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering teams of 30+ engineers, including Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers
- Define and drive engineering strategy, aligning team goals with business priorities and product roadmaps
- Champion an AI-first mindset, embedding AI and automation into product architecture, engineering workflows, and decision-making processes
- Partner closely with Product, Data, and tech leadership to co-develop long-term platform vision and technical strategy
- Establish clear engineering processes and best practices that promote high code quality, velocity, and operational excellence
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement across all levels of the engineering org
- Identify and address scaling challenges - technical, organizational, and process-related, as the team and platform grow
- Drive strategic hiring plans, organizational design, and talent development to support future growth
- Oversee budgeting, resourcing, and performance planning for engineering teams
- Support cross-functional initiatives and drive key platform improvements with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and security
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AdTech, SaaS is a strong plus
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills in high-stakes, high-complexity environments
