Summary
Join Emma โ The Sleep Company as a senior leader to spearhead the offline expansion of its sleep products business in the Asia Pacific region. This role will initially focus on India and Taiwan, aiming to build a multi-million dollar business within three years. You will develop and implement a comprehensive offline expansion strategy, build Emma's offline presence through retail stores and wholesale partnerships, and lead a cross-functional team. Success will require defining financial goals, monitoring performance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail, sales, or business development in the APAC region, a proven track record of scaling brands, and strong leadership skills.
Requirements
- Have at least 10+ years of experience in retail, sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in the APAC region
- Have a proven track record of scaling retail and offline brands and leading cross-functional teams in dynamic environments
- Have deep market knowledge in one of our APAC markets: India, Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong or Philippines. Strong understanding of retail landscapes and consumer behavior
- Have strong leadership skills with the ability to build, inspire, and manage high-performance teams
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external partners
- Be a strategic thinker and problem solver with a data-driven mindset and the ability to identify opportunities and risks
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive offline expansion strategy aligned with Emma's global objectives
- Research markets to identify opportunities and trends, starting with focus Market India and Taiwan
- Build Emmaโs offline presence via retail stores and partnerships with wholesalers in target markets
- Hire, manage, and develop a cross-functional team spanning sales, marketing, and operations centrally and across our different markets to execute the growth plan
- Define financial goals and OKRs, monitor performance, and report progress to ensure sustainable business growth and market share expansion
- Collaborate closely with global leadership, peers in other regions, regional teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and execution
- Drive market entry plans for new APAC markets, ensuring regulatory compliance and smooth operational setup
