Head of Tax

Summary

Join ETONIEN as the Interim Head of Tax, leading tax strategy and compliance for a rapidly growing, private equity-backed entertainment company. You will work closely with the CEO and Head of Finance, validating structures, optimizing global tax compliance, and making critical cross-border decisions. This high-impact role requires deep experience in the entertainment industry, strong expertise in Nexus status rules and allocation, and a strategic mindset with hands-on execution capabilities. The position is primarily remote with minimal travel required. Compensation is competitive and based on experience and qualifications, with a weekly range of $5000 to $7500 USD.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification or Masters in Taxation is highly desirable
• 15+ years in progressive tax roles
• Significant, in-depth knowledge of Nexus, allocation methodologies, and structuring models
• Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability

Responsibilities

• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO and Head of Finance, validating structuring from top tier accounting/advisory firms, optimizing global tax compliance, and owning critical cross-border decisions
• Own U.S. federal, state, local & foreign tax strategy end-to-end
• Guide leadership as client transitions key internal tax knowledge
• Lead compliance for income and sales tax across multiple jurisdictions
• Advise on international tax considerations (IP, licensing, etc.)
• Support audits and regulatory inquiries
• Design and document future-ready optimization strategies
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, and external advisors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Entertainment industry with Private Equity involved preferred
• Familiarity with Federal, State, Local as well as International tax structures preferred

• A reasonable estimate of current total compensation range including potential discretionary incentives is $5000 to $7500 USD per week
