Join Valon's growing team as a People Operations Coordinator and provide comprehensive support across various HR functions. You will be the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, manage HRIS data in Rippling, assist with payroll processing, and act as a first-line support for employee and manager inquiries. The ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of experience in People Operations, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Requirements
- You have 2+ years of experience in a People Operations with a solid understanding of core HR functions
- You use Excel/Google Sheets and other tools (extra points for AI!) to help ease and expedite your work
- You communicate clearly, concisely, and kindly and enjoy working across teams and departments
- You understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism in your role and communications
- You are highly organized capable of managing competing priorities and tasks
- You recognize that nothing and nobody is perfect but are excited by continuous learning and growth, and are able to adapt when things change quickly
- When you see a problem, you arenβt afraid to ask questions and jump in to help solve it
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for all employee benefit inquiries
- Support benefit administration: enrollments, changes, terminations, renewals, and plan design
- Assist with open enrollment communication, materials, and employee education
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as ACA, ERISA, and COBRA
- Maintain accurate employee data in Rippling (our HRIS); run regular audits
- Process employee lifecycle transactions (new hires, changes, terminations)
- Become the in-house reporting expert, generating reports to support the People team and the business
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and provide support to employees and managers
- Partner with our People Operations Manager and Finance team to process biweekly payroll, ensuring all updates and changes are captured
- Support leave of absence management through our partnership with Sparrow and/or internal tracking
- Act as the first line of support for employee and manager inquiries, delivering timely, thoughtful, and accurate guidance
- Support internal and external HR audits and maintain accurate records
- Assist with the development, rollout, and documentation of HR policies and processes
- Complete I-9 employment authorization
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and ad-hoc people programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced, distributed tech startup
- Hands-on experience with Rippling and Google Suite
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple high-priority projects
- Solid grasp of fundamental HR knowledge, practices, and requirements
