HR Manager

Summary

Join Manta Sleep, a company dedicated to improving sleep quality, as their first dedicated HR Manager. This role is 60% recruiting and 40% people operations, requiring you to build HR processes from the ground up while handling day-to-day tasks. You will lead global talent searches, manage full-cycle recruiting, design scalable HR frameworks, coach managers, implement HR technology, maintain schedules, and drive culture and engagement programs. The position is fully remote and asynchronous, requiring roughly 4 hours of overlap with GMT+8 and CET. Requirements

• 5+ years HR experience in fast-growing, remote settings
• Proven success recruiting across South Africa, Europe and Asia
• Hands-on with HR ops: contracts, compliance, HRIS, onboarding/offboarding
• Comfortable with BambooHR (or similar), Notion, GSuite, Slack
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Detail fanatic who can run with minimal hand-holding

Responsibilities

• Lead global talent searches, post roles, screen, and hire teammates across all levels, from junior staff to C-level executives
• Manage full-cycle recruiting - from job ad to signed contract and onboarding
• Design scalable HR frameworks: handbooks, compliance docs, feedback cycles
• Coach managers on performance, feedback, and team health
• Roll out and maintain HR tech (BambooHR or similar) for data you can trust
• Keep time-tracking, holidays, and global schedules transparent and tidy
• Drive culture and engagement programs that make remote life feel connected

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in DTC/e-commerce or online brands
• Familiarity with DISC or other personality frameworks
• Experience building HR systems from scratch in a 20–50 person company
