Summary
Join iParametrics as an Instrumentation and I&C Designer for a significant Department of Energy nuclear project. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and generating design drawings and 3D modeling with minimal input from engineering staff. This is a hybrid or onsite position in Houston, Aiken SC, or Greenville SC, requiring a minimum of 10 years of experience in design and drafting related to engineering and construction.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, design or another field related to the position from an accredited university
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in design and drafting related to engineering and construction
- CAD proficiency with demonstrated experience with computer aided drafting applications to originate and produce drawings with minimum supervision
- Background and experience must include drafting/designer experience in instrumentation and control systems within the electrical field. This may include cable trays, conduits, electrical panels, instrument locations, safety systems, and alarm systems
Responsibilities
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirements
- Develop and review specifications and design criteria
- Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexity
- Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clients
- Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures
- Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedule baselines
- Establish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
- Provide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittals
- Provide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changes
