Indirect Tax Intern

Summary

Join Rackspace Technology as an Indirect Tax Intern and assist the Indirect tax team with sales and use tax returns, state compliance, monthly close process, audits, property tax filings, maintaining company tax records, and performing research. Ideal candidate is a junior or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Requirements

• Junior or Senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Experience with tax compliance or accounting is preferred
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a detail-oriented, well-organized individual with excellent verbal and written skills

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation of monthly Sales and Use Tax returns
• Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintains company tax records and files
• Provides audit assistance by pulling and organizing requested information from auditors
• Processes and validates exemption certificates while providing Fanatical Support to our customers and billing team
• Prepares and updates statistical and financial reports, both on a regular and specially assigned basis
• Performs tax research as needed
• Organizes data in Excel
