Requirements

• Proven experience in U.S. medical billing, insurance verification, or healthcare virtual assistant services
• Knowledge of major U.S. insurance carriers and terminology (e.g., deductible, out-of-pocket, coinsurance)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Conduct insurance benefits verification via online portals and telephone for various carriers (e.g., Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, Optum, AmeriHealth, Ambetter)
• Confirm patient coverage, deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and coinsurance information
• Cross-check online results with verbal confirmations to ensure accuracy and eligibility for services
• Follow standard operating procedures and client-specific instructions for different types of verifications
• Work collaboratively with internal staff and communicate effectively regarding updates or issues
• Maintain accurate records of all verification activities
