Summary

Join Nirvana, a fast-growing insurtech modernizing commercial insurance, as an experienced Insurance Product Manager. You will research growth areas, create recommendations for new business ventures, and execute approved initiatives. Collaborate with a team to translate data analysis into actionable recommendations. This role offers the chance to contribute to organizational success while expanding your insurance expertise. You will leverage programming skills for data analysis and work with Departments of Insurance for approvals. You will also mentor analysts and conduct ad-hoc analysis. This is a remote position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience at a Commercial Property & Casualty insurance carrier within the Product Management, Product Development, State Management, Underwriting, Pricing, or related functions
  • Four (4) year completed degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages
  • Experience with RateFilings.com , SNL, and/or SERFF to understand rate/rule/forms product filings
  • Must have good planning, organization, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance concepts and financial metrics as well as how state regulations impact the business
  • Ability to work independently and also thrive in a team environment that is constantly changing

Responsibilities

  • Research industry trends and competitor filings to identify, evaluate, and develop new product offerings, features, and state expansion by helping perform competitive analysis, data analysis, and building supporting exhibits
  • Spearhead high-impact projects that drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience
  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to gain alignment and support for new product offerings and features
  • Leverage programming skills to conduct data analysis and implement changes in our rating engine code
  • Work with Departments of Insurance to gain approval for new product offerings and new state expansion
  • Monitor effectiveness and profitability of current products and recommend changes and/or enhancements to leadership
  • Mentor, formally, and informally, by becoming a subject matter expert for analysts across product management and provide basic analytical coaching to less experienced analysts
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting, as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial Auto experience
  • CPCU or equivalent insurance designation
