Summary
Join GENYOUth, a national non-profit organization, as an Integrated Communications Intern for a paid 10-12 week internship starting in early May. This remote internship (preference given to Eastern/Central time zones) offers a $18/hour wage and 35 hours/week. You will assist the VP of Integrated Communications in developing and executing external communications strategies. Responsibilities include social media content creation and management, research, media outreach, and event support. The ideal candidate is a junior pursuing a degree with a 3.0 GPA and prior internship experience in social media and content creation. The application deadline is March 17, 2025.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in degree program with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Junior status with an expected graduation date in 2026
- Prior internship experience in social/digital media content creation and management, creative storytelling research
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating/managing ongoing content calendars
- Write and graphically present social content (integrating video, photo images, and infographics)
- Use social graphic creative templates including Canva
- Daily monitoring/amplifying/sharing of social content
- Skill-building in the area of synthesizing social media metrics/analytics
- Research and create draft documents/recommendations to support teamβs project work
- Earned media story-telling development and placement β from researching editorial contacts, to brainstorming and shaping pitches, to media outreach/follow-through and tracking coverage
- Live and virtual event support β ability to travel if needed
- Analyze data and edit documents
- Compilation of reporting documents, including communications updates and project summaries, in Word and PowerPoint
- Work closely with VP and other members of the team on additional research projects and briefings for GENYOUthβs CEO
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in or experience with non-profit management, CSR, youth health & wellness, public relations, and/or media relations
- Effective organizational, research and reporting skills
- Ability to story-tell and write for different audiences
- Savvy with social media (including LinkedIn)
- Evidence of networking and media relationship-building skills
- Digital publishing experience
- Proficiency in video shooting and editing (via cell phone and tablets)
- Graphic capabilities such as Canva
- Willing to listen, learn and contribute
- Confidence to present/share new ideas and points-of-view to GENYOUth management and team members during weekly staff meetings
