Requirements
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelorβs degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, bookkeeping, and month-end close
- Proficiency in financial systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Process and record vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to the general ledger
- Research and resolve discrepancies within the invoices
- Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
- Address and resolve vendor inquiries or payment issues promptly
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording daily transactions in the general ledger
- Assist with bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and ensure proper documentation for all transactions
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate transaction recording
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for month-end reporting
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed
- Leverage advanced Excel skills to create and maintain spreadsheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas
- Ensure all financial processes comply with company policies and relevant regulations
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in AP, bookkeeping, and month-end close activities
- Work closely with other finance team members to support overall financial operations
- Assist with ad hoc projects and financial statement support compilation as required by management
- Provide backup support to other accounting functions during peak periods or absences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the omnichannel marketing industry preferred
- Familiarity with general ledger functions and financial reporting preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles preferred
