Requirements

  • Be a lawyer or legal professional (e.g., SaaS, Fintech)
  • Possess a good understanding of legal issues related to IT/IP contracts and personal data management, as well as in-depth knowledge of GDPR
  • Be able to analyze legal texts, conduct thorough research, and synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
  • Have a willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new situations, regulations, and technologies in a constantly evolving environment
  • Be pragmatic, enjoy solving problems efficiently, and constantly seek simplification
  • Enjoy teamwork, collaborate effectively with other teams, and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent communication and writing skills in French and English to conduct negotiations and summarize complex issues
  • Have experience in a startup or a strong desire to work in this environment and discover new legal challenges

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and renegotiate contracts with strategic vendors and suppliers, supporting various teams
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with supplier contracts, proposing mitigation solutions in collaboration with Security and Finance teams
  • Determine the role of suppliers regarding GDPR and adapt corresponding contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with the Internal Control team in implementing purchasing-related controls
  • Work with the Data Protection Officer to implement the continuous improvement roadmap for GDPR compliance, applying and updating data processing agreements, processing registers, privacy policies, etc
  • Manage GDPR rights requests from data subjects, optimize their processing, monitor CNIL decisions, and raise awareness among internal teams
  • Play a significant role in optimizing team processes by leveraging the latest innovations, such as generative AI
  • Actively participate in monitoring commercial contracts and centralizing resources and data, using Pennylane's tools to track key performance indicators
  • Contribute to disseminating legal culture within the company, collaborating with operational teams to develop and implement efficient processes

Preferred Qualifications

One or two years of experience in a law firm or company in a relevant sector
