Laboratory Manager

Summary

Join Quartzy's BioPass Team as a Laboratory Manager and become the operational powerhouse for research labs. Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and order tracking for multiple labs. Proactively identify and solve supply chain issues, streamlining processes to ensure scientists focus on research. Communicate effectively with scientists and suppliers to optimize operations and procurement. Utilize Quartzy's software for efficient inventory, order, and financial data management. Help labs improve procurement, reduce waste, and stay within budget. This 100% distributed role can be performed anywhere in the US.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Lab Management experience
• Experience in a lab management, purchasing, operations, or life sciences customer service role
• Strong understanding of scientific research workflows, reagents, and lab supplies
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and labs while maintaining extreme attention to detail
• Tech-savviness—comfortable navigating lab management software and spreadsheets
• Excellent communication skills (both with researchers and vendors)

Responsibilities

• Be the lab’s right hand. Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and order tracking for multiple labs
• Solve problems before they happen. Proactively identify supply chain issues, troubleshoot delays, and streamline processes
• Communicate like a pro. Liaise with scientists to understand their needs and with suppliers to get the best pricing, availability, and service
• Optimize operations. Use Quartzy’s software to manage inventory, orders, and financial data efficiently
• Be a strategic partner. Help labs improve procurement processes, reduce waste, and stay within budget

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous account management/sales experience
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset
