Summary

The job is for a Lead Blockchain Engineer at AiB who will guide the company's journey in creating blockchains and lead technical direction. Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years of professional experience using Go
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, data structures, code organization, and clean code principles
• Strong experience with blockchains and algorithms, including working on Layer 0 protocols
• Knowledge of the Tendermint consensus engine, Cosmos-SDK, and Cosmos Hub, or a clear willingness and capability to quickly pick them up
• Strong understanding of governance systems in decentralized environments
• Proven experience in architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale applications in a production environment
• Contributions to open-source projects, and a demonstrated ability in open-source project management
• Strong track record of leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of Git and other modern software tooling
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience as a software engineer
• Must be based in California or willing to relocate, or at the very least, able to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain robust and scalable blockchain systems, protocols, and consensus mechanisms
• Write clean, sustainable, and maintainable code in Go and design robust and easy-to-use APIs
• Drive the project's technical direction, establish roadmaps, communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, and ensure alignment with project goals while taking a proactive approach
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of decentralized solutions built on top of Tendermint and Cosmos SDK
• Architect and develop a Layer 0 blockchain protocol, including the implementation of custom logic and modifications in the consensus layer
• Implement and optimize consensus algorithms, transaction processing, and network protocols
• Take full responsibility for code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in blockchain technology and distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Initiated a significant open-source library
• Management skills
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and scalable backend architectures
• Experience with CI/CD and creating infrastructure as code
