Summary

The job is for a Lead Environmental Engineer specializing in solid waste management at Foth Environment Solutions. The employee will provide technical leadership, project oversight, hands-on engineering support, communication, collaboration, client engagement, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
  • At least 5 years in solid waste projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for solid waste projects
  • Lead the development and quality control review of plans and specifications
  • Provide hands-on technical engineering support for solid waste projects
  • Lead communications to ensure project completion with high quality and on-time delivery
  • Act as the primary contact for clients regarding solid waste projects
  • Participate in proposals and presentations
  • Attend client meetings
  • Advocate for client interests in public meetings
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and standards for waste facilities
  • Coach junior engineers to develop their technical skills and contribute to their professional growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in the engineering consulting industry
  • 3+ years project management / coordination experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with sustainability practices such as Extended Producer Responsibility, Sustainable Materials Management, Circular Economies, Waste Diversion and Zero Waste
