Join Innovaccer as a Lead Interoperability Engineer and design, develop, and implement interoperability infrastructure supporting diverse data flows between the Innovaccer platform and other health IT systems. You will ensure efficient integration of applications, provide guidance to team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay updated on industry trends. This role requires a strong engineering background, expertise in HL7 FHIR and other interoperability standards, and proficiency in Python. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to travel. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of experience in interoperability-related engineering
- Deep understanding of HL7 FHIR and its deployment, including FHIR-at-scale considerations
- Familiarity with other interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, IHE XCPD/XCA, Direct Messaging, and C-CDA
- Expertise in Python
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence peers and management, and champion best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel, including internationally
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy interoperability services that will enable Innovaccer applications to integrate into the broader healthcare ecosystem
- Ensure that applications calling these services can accomplish interoperability goals efficiently, without needing to understand the nuances of health IT standards
- Provide design and development guidance to team members deploying connections to specific EHRs, external apps, payer systems, and networks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize interoperability needs
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Share learnings from your health IT experience, with the overall Innovaccer product and engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and deploying scalable services that handle millions of transactions per day
- Understanding of medical terminology standards such as LOINC, ICD-10, and CPT
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Location within manageable driving distance to the Chicago-Milwaukee-Madison region, or Bay Area
