Summary

Join Deel, a global leader in international payroll and compliance, as their Dutch Legal Counsel. You will ensure compliance with employment laws while supporting HR, Customer Success, and Payroll teams. This role requires expert guidance on employment-related contracts, workplace policies, and compliance. You will also develop internal policies, training programs, and legal frameworks to mitigate risks and support the companyโ€™s strategic objectives. Requirements

  • 3โ€“5 years of legal experience (law firm or in-house), with a strong background in employment law
  • Fluency in English and Dutch

Responsibilities

  • Advise HR, Customer Success, and Payroll teams on employment laws and regulations to address client inquiries
  • Draft and review employment agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment-related documents to ensure compliance with local laws
  • Counsel management and HR on employment matters, including recruitment, hiring, employee relations, disciplinary actions, terminations, working time compliance, internal investigations, leaves of absence, discrimination and harassment, global mobility, contingent workforce, compensation, benefits, bonuses, equity awards, litigation, and settlements
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for contract negotiations and legal operations
  • Create and maintain training materials, playbooks, and guidelines
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, industry regulations, and internal policies
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organization
  • Maintain relationships with external counsel, regulators, and key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Masterโ€™s degree or proven experience in employment law
  • Proactive, autonomous, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment in handling sensitive information
