Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of LCA methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 14040/14044) and their application to industrial processes
  • Mastery of GaBi, GREET1, GREET2 life cycle assessment tools and an understanding of basic chemical process technology and tools
  • Strong expertise in hydrogen and carbon black production technologies, their environmental impacts, and potential areas for improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading LCA projects, including team coordination, data collection, analysis, and reporting with sustainability frameworks, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), circular economy principles, and greenhouse gas accounting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven track record of driving environmental sustainability initiatives and achieving measurable results
  • Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels, both internally and externally
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field - a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly preferred
  • Proven experience of 10-15 years in life cycle analysis, preference focusing on hydrogen and carbon black production processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive LCA strategies and methodologies specific to hydrogen and carbon black production processes
  • Build and lead a team of LCA professionals, providing guidance and support in conducting environmental impact assessments
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect necessary data and ensure accurate LCA results
  • Analyze and interpret LCA data to identify key areas for improvement in terms of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction
  • Generate reports and present findings to senior management, stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Support the development of the carbon accounting strategy and responsible for the developing the implementation process and maintenance as you stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to hydrogen and carbon black production and incorporate relevant advancements into the LCA process
  • Obtain necessary sustainability certifications, as required by customers
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications related to LCA for both customers and regulatory requirements (ie. H2 PTC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in LCA or sustainability (e.g., Certified Life Cycle Assessment Professional)
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines
