Summary

Join OpenSesame as an IS leader to elevate our helpdesk and sysadmin teams. This role requires strong coaching skills to mentor and develop your team while creating and improving processes. In the first 90 days, you'll familiarize yourself with the teams and company, understand processes, and build rapport. Within six months, you'll guide team collaboration, evolve processes, and take ownership of the IS project roadmap. By the end of your first year, you'll be a trusted partner, advocating for your team and driving continuous improvement. The position is based in Mexico City with remote-first flexibility and requires up to 15 days of travel annually. OpenSesame offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Strong coaching capabilities to help mentor and grow their team
  • Legal ability (passport and travel visa) to travel to the US
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Reliable, high-bandwidth Internet connectivity

Responsibilities

  • Form a rapport with team members and get to know them
  • Understand your team’s process and how people work together
  • Join your team for some of their regular tasks to get hands-on experience
  • Get an understanding of where each team member is in their career and where they want to go
  • Get to know your peers in compliance and engineering across the company
  • Understand how to use your team’s core tools
  • Develop a reasonable understanding of the company tool ecosystem and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Ride along with a vendor evaluation and/or renewal
  • Coach team members in collectively owning their work
  • Coach team members individually
  • Review the IS team productivity and quality metrics and OKRs
  • Understand the process for helpdesk tickets and projects
  • Lead the team in chartering exercises to guide and form their practices, procedures and ceremonies
  • Guide the team to making even better documentation and process repeatability
  • Take the reins for the process overall and evolve it further
  • Teach senior members of the team to act as player-coaches themselves
  • Collaborate with compliance and engineering to have a shared security stance vision
  • Communicate about complex migrations with groups, potentially the entire company, at a high level of quality
  • Take ownership of the Vendor on-boarding and off-boarding process
  • Own 2-3 Vendor relationships
  • Begin to quantify vendor evaluation needs based on data
  • Collaborate and advocate for your vision for the project roadmap and priorities
  • Own the company's application authentication stance
  • Prioritize automation over hands-on action in more critical systems
  • Create disaster recovery processes for critical systems
  • Have your next several process improvement experiments ready to go
