Summary

Student Achievement Partners (SAP) is a non-profit organization that designs and shares evidence-based literacy and mathematics resources to influence education systems and improve learning experiences for marginalized students. The Math Specialist (Multilingual Students) will collaborate on projects, contribute expertise in multilingual math instruction, and develop relationships with partner organizations. They will also lead and contribute to multiple projects, measure learning impact, and deliver virtual and in-person learning opportunities. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, at least 7 years of experience teaching multilingual students, and 5 years of professional learning experience. Passion for education, knowledge of college- and career-ready standards, and strong communication skills are required.

Requirements

  • Belief that students’ improved understanding of grade-level content and more joyful, relevant learning experiences can be achieved through equitable design
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience teaching multilingual students in a mono-lingual or dual language public education setting
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience providing professional learning, coaching, curricular development and/or contributing to program design focused on promoting multilingual students math content and language development
  • Passion for and deep knowledge of education and college- and career-ready standards in mathematics required
  • Knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogical practice (preferred)
  • Commitment to working in project-based design teams to employ equitable design approaches
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Google Suite, and Zoom is required
  • Strong time management, digital organization, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Leading and/or contributing to multiple, simultaneous projects that apply human-centered design principles and product development cycles consistently and effectively
  • Measuring learning and impact for projects
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with partner organizations
  • Planning, collaborating, creating, and delivering virtual and in-person learning opportunities
  • Strengthening SAP’s impact in the field by staying connected to emerging and relevant issues of supporting multilingual students in K-12 mathematics to inform SAP’s strategic goals and impact
