Join STA Personnel Solutions South Africa and partner with our US-based client as a Medical Billing Specialist. This remote role, open to South African citizens only, requires working US hours (9 am to 6 pm EST). You will be responsible for verifying patient benefits, reviewing bills for accuracy, following up on claims, and contacting insurance companies. Exceptional English communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic are essential. A stable internet connection (25 Mbps minimum) and power backup are mandatory due to the remote nature of the position and potential power outages.

- Possess a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for both upload and download, capable of supporting a wired Ethernet connection
- Have a power backup solution to manage loadshedding or power outages
Responsibilities
- Perform eligibility and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information
- Following up on unpaid/denied claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe
- Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
- Securing authorizations from insurance providers
- Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances
- Provides customer support through different communication channels (Phone, email, chat)
- Resolve issues & accommodate customer inquiries to ensure satisfaction with products or services
- Maintain accurate records on customer interactions, transaction, feedback, etc
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with US Healthcare Insurance (Medicare, Medicaid)
