Requirements

  • 1-2 years proven experience in merchandising roles within the retail industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed merchandising decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons or special events
  • A passion for retail and a keen understanding of consumer preferences and market dynamics
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Diploma holders with relevant experience are also welcome to apply

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic merchandising plans to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product assortment optimization
  • Work closely with the buying team to select the right mix of merchandise that aligns with the company's brand image and target market
  • Conduct store visits and competitor analysis to understand market positioning
  • Oversee inventory levels and product replenishment to minimize stockouts and excess inventory
  • Utilize data analytics and forecasting techniques to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs
  • Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to create appealing product displays and store layouts that drive customer engagement and sales
  • Ensure that merchandising standards are consistently maintained across all retail locations
  • Develop promotional strategies and pricing policies to stimulate sales and maximize profitability
  • Monitor the performance of promotions and pricing initiatives and make adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, retail, and operations to execute merchandising initiatives effectively
  • Communicate merchandising priorities and strategies to internal stakeholders and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, and inventory turnover and sell-through rates
  • Generate reports and insights to evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and identify areas for improvement
