Requirements
- Mastery of English
- Degree in Creative Writing, Theatre, Film (or self-taught with relevant experience), or Professional writing experience in video games or another dramatic medium
- Strong editorial skills with the ability to craft sharp, engaging dialogue
- Ability to create clear, coherent stories for diverse audiences
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, plot, structure, and character development
- Knowledge of interactive storytelling and how narrative supports game mechanics and player retention
- Passion for gaming, with deep knowledge of game design, culture, and the entertainment industry
- Proficiency in presenting narrative concepts using Excel, PowerPoint, Miro, or similar tools
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with adaptability to constraints
- Exceptional attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Write compelling dialogue between characters and the player
- Capture the authentic voices of Disneyβs iconic characters
- Develop immersive narrative content aligned with the game's vision
- Craft engaging stories with well-defined character motivations and dramatic arcs
- Integrate narrative seamlessly with gameplay systems
- Create and maintain documentation for all narrative elements
- Identify and solve narrative challenges through creative collaboration
- Participate in writers' rooms, giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Implement your writing to the game using game editor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with game editors and prototyping tools (e.g., Unity)
- Strong pitching and presentation skills
- Commercial writing experience for licensed IPs
- Disney fan or Disney Dreamlight Valley player
