Network Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Network Engineer for a Japanese company in NYC! This role offers a competitive salary ($70-85K) and 401K benefits. Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3-7 years’ experience in network engineering or IT support
• Practical experience with network design implementation and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, and OSPF
• Knowledge of network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure reliability and optimal performance
• Implement and manage security protocols to protect network systems and ensure data integrity
• Resolve network issues promptly and provide support to IT staff and end-users affected by network-related incidents
• Develop and maintain robust network backup and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss
• Continuously monitor and optimize network performance to meet organizational needs and enhance user experience
• Understand and follow clients’ requests and instructions to ensure network solutions align with business requirements
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve network services
• Operate and maintain infrastructure in good condition including routers, switches, Wi-Fi Access Points, Firewall, VPN concentrator, Datacenter, LAN/WAN/Voice Network, and Microsoft Teams Phone service
• Work together with the Network Manager to manage and implement improvements and renewal Network infrastructure projects
• Monitoring and organizing all tasks to contractors appropriately provides good examples and suggestions for subordinates if they have any difficulties
• Preventing outages and minimizing downtime by establishing redundant systems and/or management solutions
• Troubleshoot network problems, investigate root-cause and solve issues in a timely manner
• Negotiate, and work with IT vendors for troubleshooting issues, for both maintenance and new projects
• Research new technologies and solutions for network infrastructure improvement
• Plan and propose improvements and renewal of network infrastructure continuously and timely according to life cycle and depreciation schedules
• Create and update documents and information accurately among network resources, operational procedures and rules
• Cooperate with IT Platform Service department to enhance security, productivity and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Advantageous if you hold CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), etc
• Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or Bash
• Japanese Bilingual Preferable
• Very flexible mindset & challenging personality against sudden big change of request/workflow/rules/responsibility range/environment
