Summary
Join AnaVation's growing team as a Network System Engineer and make a daily difference! This exciting role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining large enterprise networks, primarily in federal government environments. You will leverage your expertise in TCP/IP, Agile methodologies (SAFe), and Cisco technologies. The position is mostly remote, with occasional travel to Clarksburg, WV, potentially required. A Top Secret clearance is mandatory, and a polygraph/SCI access may be needed. AnaVation offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education (degree strongly preferred)
- Have a minimum of 8 years of experience
- Hold a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure certification
- Have two to five years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing
- Understand common network protocols, including TCP/IP, User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
- Possess expert knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)/Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) routing protocol
- Understand all aspects of Virtual Private Network (VPN) design and configuration
- Possess expert knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Have expert level network troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving skills
- Have experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe
- Possess an active Top Secret clearance
- Be able to successfully pass a polygraph and obtain SCI accesses (if requested by the customer)
Responsibilities
- Serve as senior member of a high performing technical team to deliver customer mission requirements
- Apply Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) routing and switching principles to practical solutions
- Perform multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving
- Ability to configure, maintain, and upgrade LAN/WAN design and topology
- Install/configure LAN/WAN hardware and maintain wiring closets and nomenclature
- Monitor with standard network management and packet analysis tools
- Manage Cisco and other hardware, including consumer-grade routers and switches
- Plan, implement, and administer perimeter security and firewalling
- Evaluate new technologies and make design recommendations for a more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure
- Utilize the SAFe methodology and principles to align and collaborate product delivery of Agile teams
- Mentor team members and ensure quality of technical support and contractual deliverables
