Summary

Join Noetic Strategies Inc. as an Open Shift Administrator SME supporting the Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI) Facilities and Real Estate Division (FRED) IT. This role requires expertise in RedHat OpenShift administration, Kubernetes, and Linux systems. Responsibilities include managing the on-premises OpenShift platform, addressing cluster requirements, and ensuring efficient cost management. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator certification are required. Noetic offers a competitive salary and extensive benefits package. The position is located at Langley Research Center (remote option available within 50 miles of Hampton, VA). A Public Trust clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. May be possible to substitute experience for degree
  • Must be a RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator; certification must be current
  • Proficient in OpenShift administration, including cluster management, application deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and principles
  • Solid experience with Linux operating systems, including command-line skills and system administration tasks
  • Experience with container technologies and container orchestration platforms
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing, and security
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues within the OpenShift environment
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and system management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Responsibilities

  • Address, build, and maintain the on-premises OpenShift container platform requirements, Kubernetes Engine, nodes, cluster data management, integrations, resources (pods, services, policies)
  • Manage the dependencies on computing platforms
  • Work within a variety of different computer system environments, such as UNIX variants (Linux), RedHat OpenShift, and Microsoft Windows
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in functional area
  • Continuously improve cost management processes by identifying tools and methods for greater efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in computer-related field preferred but not required
  • 6 years or more of IT experience
  • Expert Knowledge of Virtual Infrastructure, SANs, and backup and recovery systems a plus
