Summary

Join our team at The Center for Justice Innovation as an Operations Associate to assist with maintaining facilities, greeting the public, managing data, and participating in community relations. This part-time position is located in Far Rockaway, Queens, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $28.57 - $30.22 per hour.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree with 2-3 years of work experience or Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience
  • Interest in working with communities and/or service
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with varying levels of stakeholders
  • Highly organized, excellent communication skills, and strong writing ability with the capacity to be detail-oriented within a fast-paced
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft and Google Suites, and be able to use Skype for Business
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally-responsive manner and work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to control the flow of the public entering and exiting the center, making sure all visitors and clients sign in and are referred to the correct staff member
  • Assist community affairs team as needed
  • Manage the reception area
  • Manage copy supplies, make copies for staff, laminate flyers and other material
  • Manage all deliveries and water coolers, keep the seating area neat and tidy, and maintain the iPad for quick sign-ins
  • Answer and transfer phone calls, record messages, and direct messages to the appropriate staff members
  • Manage all conference areas
  • Maintain kitchen pantry tidiness and stock level
  • Manage all Inventory: Shipping Container, Office Supplies, Tech Closet, Pantry Supplies, Hygiene Supplies, and Branding Supplies
  • Assist with ordering supplies for office
  • Manage mailchimp database: Input emails into MailChimp from all events, workshops, and meetings
  • Assist with food orders for programs
  • Assist with scheduling of stakeholder meetings
  • Assist with Intake of clients, participants, and volunteers
  • Work nights and/or weekends on occasion
  • Assist with local clean up (sweeping, litter removal, recycling, power washing)
  • Support the creation and maintenance of community murals and graffiti removal
  • Tend to community gardens
  • Assist with general projects to beautify public spaces with residents
  • Work on community campaigns to engage residents to clean their neighborhoods
  • Maintain existing and support the creation of new community-driven projects to make safer more vibrant neighborhoods, that may include community murals, community gardens, renovated basketball courts, and more
  • Support programs by ensuring project site is cleaned, monitoring of program, maintain inventory of supplies and more
  • Support events by ensuring the site is free of debris, setting up tents and tables, managing a sign-in table, facilitating event activities, and more
  • Support outreach and evaluation efforts for events
  • Provide event support for other QCJC-TR sites as needed
  • Additional tasks as necessary
