Summary

Join EV Realty as Operations Manager and manage EV charging operations to ensure high reliability, operational flexibility, and exceptional customer experience. Collaborate with various teams to meet and exceed customer needs, establishing structured processes and coordinating with operational partners and vendors. Oversee the upkeep, repair, and performance of EV charging equipment and associated building systems, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance. Manage site operations, including property and building management, and charger operations, including hardware monitoring, troubleshooting, customer support, and feedback collection. Produce internal and external reports, support site launches, and perform maintenance on EV charging equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, deep domain expertise in EV fast-charging solutions, and excellent communication skills. The position involves regular travel.

Requirements

  • Background in operations spanning energy, infrastructure and EV charging
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial work ethic, strong problem-solving skills, and bias for action
  • Deep domain expertise in core components of EV fast-charging solutions including batteries, hardware, software, interoperability, communication protocols, and O&M with a passion for solving complex problems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to successfully communicate in all situations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to translate and effectively turn customer needs into real-world solutions
  • Experience managing third party vendors
  • Mission-driven to combat the effects of climate change by tackling the urgent problem of decarbonizing the transportation sector at scale
  • 3+ years of experience in e-mobility with understanding of fleet customer needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, math, environmental science, or related field
  • EV Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment), charging protocols, and basic networking for charger connectivity
  • Regular travel to sites when new customers are onboarded until the customer is operational; ad-hoc travel as needed to ensure operational excellence (30%+ travel required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external operations support partners and staff
  • Support the creation of supplier agreements and assist in negotiations with key partners
  • Manage and facilitate charging hardware and customer vehicle interoperability testing
  • Lead customer onboarding: ensure customers’ first weeks on-site are smooth and operationally successful for each new fleet added to a property
  • Serve as main point of contact for all escalated customer operational questions and requests
  • Establish, monitor, and track operational KPIs for internal and external vendor performance
  • Collect feedback directly and indirectly from customers on how to improve the charging experience, propose solutions and implement them. Inform design of future sites
  • Reporting: produce internal and external reports for the portfolio, sites, sets of chargers, and specific customers
  • Site launch: help commission and launch new sites / chargers and perform internal checks to ensure optimal charging behavior
  • EV Charging Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on DC fast charging stations, including hardware and software components
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to EV charging functionality, network connectivity, and site-level infrastructure
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and accurate records of maintenance activities, service logs, and work orders for both EV equipment and facility systems
  • Spare parts: ensure all parts inventory is properly stocked and on-site staff know how to access and utilize spare parts; process warranty claims as required
  • Customer charge planning: support customers with questions about how to optimize fleet charging for speed, power, cost, etc
