Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the building materials industry - lumber, millwork, hardware, etc
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Deep understanding of the construction industry, particularly the needs and challenges of custom home builders and framers
- Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints is a plus
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed
Responsibilities
- Identify and target potential customers, including custom home builders and framers, to generate new sales opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our truss products, manufacturing processes, and industry standards to effectively communicate benefits to customers
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the specific needs of customers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to close sales and achieve revenue targets
- Work closely with the production, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are completed on time
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system. Provide regular reports on sales performance and market feedback
- Travel within the assigned territory to meet with customers, attend industry events, and represent the company
