Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of payroll and accounting experience
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Proven experience with payroll processing, including tax calculations and deductions
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to perform detailed reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
  • Strong verbal and written English

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including updating employee records, processing timesheets, calculating salaries, taxes, and deductions, and ensuring timely payments
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries and prepare necessary journal entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee the payment process for all contractors, including the collection of necessary tax forms (W8/W9), allocation of payments to the correct general ledger accounts, and management of contractor-related schedules and reconciliations
  • Accurately calculate sales commissions and bonuses, manage accrual schedules, and ensure timely payouts
  • Maintain deferred commission schedules in accordance with ASC606
  • Prepare consolidated labor expense reports, analyze fluctuations, and provide commentary for budget-to-actual reviews
  • Manage schedules for unused vacation, employee advances, and propose correcting journal entries as needed
  • Work closely with the HR department on headcount and expense allocations, and liaise with external service providers for all payroll-related matters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a Big 4
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite
