Summary
Join our team as a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support our construction operations. This remote, part-time position focuses on accurate and timely payroll processing and reporting, especially for projects with prevailing wages and government funding. You will process weekly payroll, manage Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs), analyze fringe benefits, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Compliance with regulations is key, requiring interaction with various teams and external entities. The role demands strong attention to detail, accuracy, and effective communication. This position offers flexibility with a part-time, work-from-home schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, within the construction industry and with some exposure to Certified Payroll or prevailing wages
- Knowledge of certified prevailing wage rates for different municipalities OR a good understanding of how to complete federal and state payroll forms related to prevailing wages
- Comfortable using payroll systems and construction software (e.g., LCPtracker, Procore, or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Good communication and time management skills
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM β 2:00 AM PHT (Philippine Time)

Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for field employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Manage and submit Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs), including federal (WH-347) and state forms, in line with prevailing wage requirements
- Analyze and report on fringe benefits for the field team to meet prevailing wage standards and for internal cost tracking
- Ensure accurate recording of job details, project locations, and applicable wage rates
- Regularly review payroll records and job site information to identify and correct any errors
- Track and maintain important documents related to compliance, such as wage determinations and subcontractor certifications
- Assist with the onboarding of new field employees, ensuring correct wage classifications and project assignments
- Work with project managers, subcontractors, and HR to ensure timely submission of necessary paperwork and tracking of project labor
- Respond to inquiries about payroll practices, documentation, and compliance from auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
- Assist in preparing for and responding to payroll audits and inspections
- Generate internal reports and analyses related to field labor costs and benefit usage
- Stay informed about changes in labor laws and prevailing wage rules
- Perform other assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll is a plus
