Summary
Join our team as a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll functions, manage talent, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for processing semi-monthly payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, and special payrolls, while maintaining accurate records and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in accounting, finance, human resources or another related field
- 5 years of experience managing payroll or similar accounting role
- 3-5 yearsโ multi-state payroll processing, HRIS administration and configuration experience
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processes, FLSA laws, payroll taxes, and payroll related compliance
- Experience in handling payroll audits, inspections and compliance assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, and intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
- Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with capability to prioritize and are highly organized
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire payroll function, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Participate in and improve processes for our semi-monthly payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, and special payrolls
- Be the primary payroll resource for employees, direct reports, and other stakeholders within Ncontracts
- Prepare payroll related journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with internal and external audits
- Assist with month-end close tasks and complete special projects as assigned
- Assist with year-end reporting and preparation of annual tax forms
- Assist with year-end audit requests related to payroll
Preferred Qualifications
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
- Masterโs degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
- Paylocity HRIS administration, NetSuite, Merger & Acquisitions experience
