Requirements
- 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably handling mixed employee types (salary, hourly, part-time)
- Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., Bamboo, Gusto, ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.)
- Solid understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws (FLSA), and tax compliance
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle confidential data
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and review semi-monthly payrolls for all employees using BambooHR
- Ensure timely and correct payment of wages to salaried, hourly, and part-time employees
- Verify timekeeping records, including hours worked, overtime, PTO, and holiday pay
- Validate payroll data (e.g., new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, bonuses, and deductions)
- Reconcile pre- and post-payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before final submission
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Calculate and file payroll taxes, wage garnishments, and other required deductions
- Generate payroll-related reports for Finance, HR, and auditors
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and employee compensation
- Audit of benefit billing with vendors and the benefit administration system
- COBRA administration
- Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, withholdings, and payroll procedures
- Provide documentation and support for employment verification, loan applications, and similar requests
- Collaborate with HR to ensure proper tracking of benefits, leaves of absence, and employee status changes
- Maintain and update employee payroll records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Recommend and implement improvements to payroll processes and systems
- Assist in the testing and implementation of new payroll systems or upgrades
